Re: Hello from a new member

Hi John, yes, the FDX is pretty nice -I bought mine new (~1984), I just wish I could get it working again. Bit of a coincidence, you mentioning the FDX - I got my wife to rescue it from the loft yesterday, I plan on having a serious go at fixing it! The HDX is very rare, I'm not even certain that Me...

Re: Hello from a new member

Hi John, I wonder if perhaps you had a disk drive at some point, or at least, the original owner had? The SDX was an external disk drive, plugged into the expansion port on the left hand side of the MTX, some models did have exactly the same PSU as the MTX. I would love to get my hands on one of the...

Re: It works !

Oooops!

Sorry, obviously not the UHF modulator then, that is quite a common problem, but I should have asked if you were using the TV out - duh!

Re: It works !

Hi Phil,

Good result - well done!

The video problem sounds more like a modulator problem, rather than the video board, but could be either I suppose,

Re: Power supply

Hi Mark, I did wonder about the practicalities of getting a transformer specially made too, but as yet, have not done anything about it either. I was thinking that it might be possible to get a limited run of complete assemblies made, i.e., complete with case (though not matching the MTX) and power ...

Proposed Memotech Meet 2013

It has been proposed that Memotech MTX user’s organise a get together for 2013 to revisit and discuss the Memotech range of computers and current activities in the Memotech world. Since the majority of prospective attendees are located in the UK, the meet would almost certainly be held somewhere in ...

Re: Power supply

Hi Mark, Thanks a lot for that. I guess for anyone just wanting to use the standard MTX to play games etc. from tape, then the limitation of not beng able to use expansion cards might not be a problem. Personally though, I'd want the flexibility to be able to plug in at least the RS232 card. Actuall...

Re: Power supply

came with nothing! The components I selected for the replacement AC PSU were the best match that I could find from the three suppliers that I checked with. The transformers are rated higher than what may be needed, because there is not much choice of power ratings (in VA units) at the voltage ratin...

Re: Power supply

Hi Phil, welcome to the forum and the world of Memotech. I have a small survey running at the moment, to see what Memotech hardware is still around, if you get a few minutes, could you maybe complete it for me please? The survey is at:- http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KPR8V5K And the results to date a...
